Why teams use lift and shift
It can be faster than rebuilding an application and may help close a data center, reduce hardware dependency, or meet a deadline. It is often a first step into cloud.
The limitation
Lift-and-shift workloads may not automatically gain cloud-native benefits such as autoscaling, managed services, and cost efficiency. A broader cloud migration plan may include later modernization.
Lift-and-shift is practical, but it is not always the final architecture.
