What is Common App and How it Works?

Common App is a website (Commonapp.org), also known as Common Application. It’s a non-profit organization that allows students to apply to schools. Every School has its own procedure of application, requirement and Form Type, but Common Application makes things easier for Students. Common apps provide a simple standard form that can be used to apply to around 700 colleges/schools. So students don’t need to repeat the applications and enter details again and again.

How Common App Works

  • Visit CommonApp.Org.
  • Create an account by providing valid information, like your Date of Birth, Name, Email Address, Address, Contact Number etc.
  • Browse Schools and Add to your list. There are 700 schools that include public, private, small and large schools. Add multiple colleges/schools to “My Colleges” list (add only those you are interested in). You can also use the Virtual Counselor to find out which college/school will be the best for you.
  • Understand the school requirement, and then gather the information needed to fill the form.
  • Finally, start your application.
