What is AirDrop, and How to use it?

You must have heard or even used AirDrop feature that is found in Apple Devices only. If you haven’t used any Apple product so far, it may be the first time, you will learn about AirDrop.

What is AirDrop?

AirDrop is a feature that allows transferring data wirelessly between Apple Devices. So if you want to send a File from your iPhone to another iPhone or even Mac, you can use AirDrop feature. It allows to transfer, photos, videos, docs etc..

How to use AirDrop Feature?

Mac Users

Make sure WiFi and Bluetooth are turned on, and then right-click on any file that you want to send, select Share option, and then select AirDrop. AirDrop feature must be enabled on the receivers device. Now click on the device name where you want to send it, and the file will be sent.

iOS Users (iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch)

Swipe up from the bottom the display, and then tap on AirDrop option, and then tap Everyone or Contacts only option depending on the device you want to send the file. Now click on Share icon to send the file, e.g. if you want to send a photo, go to the Photos app, tap on a photo you want to send, and then tap Share icon (located on the bottom left corner), and you will see those devices that have AirDop turned on, tap on the device name to send the file.
